i built mine using perf/pad board. but i have seen people build it using strip board, i dont really like strip board, i find it gets too messy to have to try and re-arrange the schematic to fit the board. i like to just build it as i see it straight from the diagram. my other post describes a few of the changes i made to it. but even without the mods i still think it is a fantastic pedal. and it was really fun and easy to build. it would be very straight forward to change the overall character of the pedal simply by changing the diode type. i personally like L,E,D and mosfet clipping combined. and you could also try putting the diodes in the feedback loop of the first gain stage.
